One of the fun byproducts of InMenlo is that people pop into the Dawn Jogger’s life from all over. Yesterday she got an email from a man who collects old porcelain enamel California highway signs, which he showcases on his website. He thinks some of them may have been part of the bridges of Menlo Park/Palo Alto, which contributor Jym has written about in his “Under Menlo” series. This discussion of old signage may have caused her to look upward this morning as she jogged around Lake Lagunita. An old metal sign looked like it was being crushed by the oak tree to which it was affixed. And yes, for the uninitiated, there are horses on campus. Lots of them…
