Lunch time stop with Richard Burton

Richard Burton bench in Cental Park

Feeling the pull of the reservoir, the Dawn Jogger headed out to join the pre-work crowd for a spin around that body of water in Central Park, then back via 72nd, making it a decent if not great workout.

She took the obligatory photo from the top of the reservoir, as she’s done numerous times before. But it was a serendipitous lunch stop, that revealed yet another reason why she loves New York.

Picking up a couple of sandwiches at the Public Fare cafe near the Delacorte Theater, she and her walking companion climbed the steps up toward Belvedere Castle. They stopped at a bentwood bench on the Castle’s west side. Like many benches this one had a dedication placard. How many people get to have a picnic lunch with Phillip and Richard Burton…
