Stanford’s spaceship gets a coat of cement

The Dawn Jogger finds it amazing to watch the building of what will be a new performing arts center at Stanford, set to open a year from now. She calls it a space ship as the early scaffolding looked just like something that had landed from outer space. It’s now gotten a layer of cement on its sides. The land that it sits on next to Frost Amphitheater was once occupied by the Men’s Gymnasium, damaged beyond repair in the 1906 earthquake. The 21st century brings better earthquake resistant building techniques one would think…
